PLEASE READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY
1.0.16 is now available. Its primarily a maintenance release, consisting of lots of bug fixes, and a few minor additions. Many of these items have been made available as patches to v1.0.8 in the past. As with all releases, if you're upgrading then I recommend you backup your database and config.xml files before attempting the upgrade. A couple of testers had problems upgrading. To minimise the chance of this problem, I recommend you stop any existing GB-PVR software prior to upgrading. ie, stop the recording service, tray app and PVRX2.exe/GBPVR.exe - particularly the recording service.... I'd also recommend switching back to the default 'Blue' skin before upgrading. If you havnt previously been running 1.0.8, then you'll need to install the updated Microsoft runtime from: http://www.gbpvr.com/vcredist_x86.zip You can download GB-PVR 1.0.16 from: http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR10016.msi Also remember to review the sticky 'v1.0.16 survival guide' thread for any late breaking news or patches: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showthread.php?t=28663 Changes include: Quote:

Sorry, for moment there I had the URL from 1.0.8. If you check the post again, you'll find it now says "GBPVR10016.msi" in the download URL.

I actually got a BSD on the first install attempt. I've never seen one of those on this machine, and it was probably just a fluke since after shutdown and restarting, it re-installed fine.
Also, only one MVP came up at first. The second and third I had to unplug and restart. They came up fine after that though. Thanks for adding back ability to disable clock on the MVPs. Made an MVP only copy of the skin, commented out the current time references, and not showing the time just like I wanted.

Sub,
When changing the EPG source from zap2it to SchedulesDirect, will we need to do anything special? Will we have to delete our tuner and start fresh?

When the first few people go to do it, I'd definitely recommend backing up the database, and probably hitting the 'export recordings' button, then just try changing the source and entering your details. It'd be a little more complicated if you've got multiple accounts or lineups. The longer approach would probably be using the 'export recordings' feature, then starting from an empty database and creating your new capture sources, then doing an 'import recordings'. This export/import recordings feature handles season and manual reoccuring recordings now, so should take most of the pain out of recreating your recordings. |
