    Okay Iain, I am concerned about this background stuff (to sell some cheap apps...may be a good idea...), but why do you mean?

    I think what he means is that tray icons can be configured to only show notifications. Under program control this would mean it could stay hidden except when it recording when it is minimized to the notification area and not just the systray. If so +1 to this.

    I had a similar thought to Iain - 31 programs running in the notification area - could be a world record
    It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives
