What's with the "started" button that stays on the screen every time the computer starts? Is there a way to disable that?

Could it be a virus? I'm not sure what you're talking about.
I guess it's possible that the task bar is not locked and it was dragged somewhere else on the desktop. If so, try grabbing the bar and moving it down to the bottom of the screen.

You've put "Start NPVR Service" in your startup group. Take it out. The NPVR Service starts automatically.

Well.. taking it out of the start up group certainly keeps the box from popping up but NPVR isn't starting. What have I screwed up and how do I fix it?
Thanks guys.. nevermind... did a quick re-install and it fixed itself .. apparently I lost the tray icon along the line and put the wrong thing in the start folder...
