Client PC mode help

Anything more to say regarding Client PC mode?

Instead using the servername, you can use the server ip too. I prefer the ip one, because the dns is sometimes a bit slow. Of course the ip should be used only if some uses static ips.

In case of recording service i have a question:
Is it REALLY, REALLY, REALLY neccessary to use it on a CLIENT without tv card? If the only task of nrecord.exe is to control the recording capabilities of tv cards, then there shouldn't be the need to use the recordingservice on clients, right?
Just a question which is circleling around my head since months ... ^^
