Recording video format - and how to edit?
Hello,
For a project I'm doing I need to cut and splice TV recordings. If I understand it correctly, the output is mpeg4 (H264), correct?
Well, is there a way to change this? Alternatively, could someone tell me, if they know, of a free video editor? My needs are very basic, just cut and save various segments... Was going to use VDub but unfortunately it doesn't seem to support this format.
Thanks so much once more,
T

With digital recordings the format is entirely dependant on what the broadcaster sends and this varies greatly on countries.
I haven't come across a decent, free, video editor that handles all formats yet.

Huh, imagine that, I hadn't realized that it just dumps the data it receives - I thought it encodes the signal into a file. But it makes sense - it's digital after all.
Now, *that* would be a great feature then!
Thanks for the input!

If your recordings are H.264 then H264TS_Cutter is worth trying - it works for me.

Thanks will give it a round; looks simple but enough!
