I deleted all the files from the Ultra directory. I copied the Ultra files I downloaded from the wiki. I ran Ultra 2 (just started it up, nothing else). It got a _SeriesIDS.txt file.
The _WebResponsetime.log file has a single entry in it:
00:00:00.9843750 : TempSeriesID.txt
The _App.log has just one line in it:
8/11/2009 6:13:27 AM :1> Creating default settings xml files
It created _TagSettings.xml and _Titlesettings.xml files.
It created an empty XML_Cache subdirectory.
Then, I clicked on each tab. Everything was fine until I clicked on the Manual tab. The form appears correctly briefly and then transforms into to imae I uploaded before.
I even tried disabling my antivirus (NOD32 version 4) and firewall (Comodo) to see if that was causing the problem. No difference.
Later today, I will try rebooting and starting clean again.
This is frustrating not having the Ultra enhancements in my EPG.![]()
The older version I reverted to was copied (the executable; not the original ZIP file) from my Win7 test machine and it gave the same results in the XP machine as the newest version does, i.e. bad. I've not even had the Win7 machine turned on much lately because of a BSOD issue which I wasn't sure was due to Win7, the new hardware (I built the PC from components), or some applications on the computer.
Unfortunately, I have been lax in not keeping previous versions of these apps when I d/l a newer version. I've learned my lesson and will not let this happen again.
Is there a link where I can d/l the previous version of Ultra and see if a pristine copy causes the same issues?
Actually, it would be a PITA to get you a previous version, but not impossible. I should say though, I'm positive it's something completely different.
Moving just the executable from you W7 machine should be enough. I haven't changed much of anything.
I suspect, that a support file or runtime file, used (and updated) by another piece of software is causing grief. I actually don't know how to check on that.
Because that groupbox is so perfectly aligned confuses me the most. It's like the two other groupboxes, that should be directly above it, disappeared, and the remaining group box was set to fill and center in the tab control. I know how to do that stuff programatically, and have done so in other projects, but have no code that moves and centers anything in Ultra, now, or before.

You should always use the versions of isocodes.dll and xmltv.dll that is supplied with a zip. But there are no screen draw code in those dlls that could be causing trouble.
Included is a zip of a rebuild of backup code. Because of versioning, I would not go by the number in this build.

I tried this version and got the same results.
I think the problem must be in the environment in my computer. I will do a complete virus scan on my computer this morning.
For now, I consider this to be in my court. Thanks for your help.
I finished my antivirus scan of the c: drive (with no anomalies found). I rebooted and the computer installed a Windows update and then I tried again with a clean Ultra directory and a fresh download of Ultra2 version 21771.
It ran OK. I didn't make any other changes so I don't know what caused the strange behavior. I'll just write it off to my computer being possessed. It now seems OK.
