New 'edit' Categories

I've created a new category (and will create a couple more as work procedes) on updating wiki pages.

The Being_Edited category tag can be added to THE START of any page that you are intending to edit, and would like others to view but not edit...

Currently I have flagged a few pages I am working on. Please feel free to watch the changes.

It is now my responsibilty to see these edits through to completion, or remove the edit tags, and allow others to edit...

Later I will change the tage to Pending_Proof, where I would invite people to proof read the pages and make small edits. I would ask that larger edits be made by the page authors, and the suggestions be given through the forum or email...

Once the page seems to be accepted, all the 'edit' tags will be removed

There is no real adminstrative rights involved here and anyone can cut in, so it's good if we keep each other informed in this forum


PS: as far as proof reading is concerned, one of my computers has a sticky 'P' and so many times the 'P' is missing.

PSS: Yes I'm aware of the irony. Especially at my age. I'm all too aware...

Did some minor edits about zipping and posting logs. Mostly improved readability. At least I hope I did.

Interesting that the changes you made were all cut and paste from Sub's post in the support sticky..

firstly can I say I've been waiting for something like this for a long time, hence my recent posts about frustration with the Wiki.

Unfortunately for you I've now got somewhere to begin

If it's a real small typo, feel free to frix it yourself

Before I try to frix anything myself I'll just put my suggestions in a post as wouldn't want to mess with anyone's pages.

I understand that all of this may be still in its infancy so won't mention missing links and stuff like that for now, just a pedantic overview from a non Dev but someone who loves words

IMHO I see why you've done this if there is only one page things should not be plural, if there are multiple pages there shouldn't be just a mention of one.

So for me this should either read:

The following page/s hold information about PendingProof

The following link/s are for pages PendingProof

The following pages have information about PendingProof

These are just examples, by no way exhausting and I did warn you I was pedantic For that read Anal.

Think I'm going to shut up now, saw some other stuff and wanted to question loads of it!

Am I just trying to make this too complicated? Proof reading can be fun..

I need this. I'm extremely pedantic myslef, but I can only proof my own stuff so far. Plus the structure makes sense to me, but might not for others. so let me have it.

Have to laugh about your first page to critique. It's a work page, and when all my work is finsihed, there will be no pages to proof read... You're right it's wrong. But let's get at the actual pages I'm writing/editing. Plus I don't want to out-pedant you, so I'll keep postin with my crappy laptop, where the keys are so tight together, I'll alwasy have typos. Certainly my fingers are not making these errors.

And then there's the case of the sticking 'p'

At no point will the ages be actually finished. If you think I'm actually still working oin a page, I may or may not. Chances are though that If I've moved a page into PendingProof, I'm done with most of my content, and might just have to write links or extra pages...,
