I am trying to set up a clear QAM tuner using Schedules Direct as my EPG source. I've enabled the device, scanned and found 16 clear QAM stations using 'Default Cable Frequencies'. I have these channels enabled in my Schedules Direct line up and they show up when in my EPG in the GUI. I have a bunch of standard definition stations in my channels list too. Those show that I have sources attached to them, but I do not have any sources showing up for the QAM channels. How do I associate the scanned channel frequencies with the channel mappings from Schedules Direct?

I checked the wiki, but I didn't see anything about tying the two together. I don't normally use this machine to watch anything but it will do all my recording. Will it be a problem if I install NPVR on windows 8? I have seen some threads that talk about problems with windows 8 but there are also threads about problems on windows 7 etc. I am wondering if anyone is running NPVR on windows 8 successfully. My old rig is XP and runs great. Windows 8 is so different I would expect there to be problems. I understand that Windows 8 is not officially supported but can anyone help clarify this?

I'm new to NextPVR, but I'm a developer by background, so I should be able to figure things
out - hopefully :)

One quick question - keymappings.xml has a list of key-codes and the corresponding
commands. Nice and simple :)

But all my google searching hasn't turned up a list of the possible commands that one
can use in this file. Does such a thing exist?

While we're on this - keymapping.xml seems to be missing some of the standard
commands - are there internal defaults?

On my system, there seem to be two behaviours for channel up/down - in one
case, the channel number changes and immediately tries to tune it. In another
case, the channel number changes and it waits for OK. I can't figure out which
command name corresponds to which case.

Any help appreciated!

When I go to Live TV, I'm seeing blank screen but get sound. I've tried all of the renderers (EVR, VMR9, VRM9 CUSTOM, VRM9 FSE, VRM7) with no success. However, I can record a show, then play back with both video and sound using Windows media player.

I'm using HDHomeRun Dual Tuner which connects directly to my router, Windows 7, NextPVR 2.6.2

Anyway, I tried to do a manual recording and it failed to record, probably cause I don't have everything configured. Now Live TV doesn't work and I can't delete the file that I recorded which may be tying things up. I've attached the log files & I would appreciate some help!!

I originally had 18 tuners (9 each for the new unit and the old one) I finally figured out how to deleted the old stuff.
I have scanned for channels on all the new available tuners, with found results.
When I select either Live TV or a channel off of the EPG, a tuner light will turn on for about 5 seconds, then go out.

The screen shows "Please wait..." for about 30 seconds, then gives the error "The tuner you were using was required for a recording. Would you like to switch to watching a recording or exit back to the main menu?" with the only option being exit back to menu.

There are no recordings scheduled. There are no recorded programs on the system for the program to view.

I've removed/reinstall the program, with no change to the error.

Anyone have a suggestion on how I can fix this?

But, in working on trying to get a client version of NPVR running on the htpc I've run into the problem that it doesn't seem to remember any settings I change. I completely deleted the first installation, including manually removing all files on the C drive in both locations. I then rebooted the pc and then installed NPVR. I did not start the record function. I went to devices, checked the client box and then entered my office pc (server) name and the server address for the database file. Closed out that screen to see what happened and the result was nothing, no tv connection, no music or video files. So, I went back to the devices tab and none of the changes I had made were still there. The client box was unchecked and the server and database addresses were back to the 'hushpc' entry. Why is it doing this? I can see the server pc through NPVR (settings for file folders, which revert to a C. address as soon as I close that screen. I'm attaching the log files for the client pc in the hopes someone can tell me what I'm missing.

On Wednesday morning I installed the Updates in 2 batches - the first batch went ok but the second batch (2 dot net 3.5 patches and KB2821895 not automatically ticked on the first run) - on restart while configuring updates crashed out and restarted the computer for a second time, but then installed.

On Wednesday night we set a recording and went to bed. On coming down in the morning the HTPC's lights were on but nobody was home - in the end only a reset got the thing to reboot upon which it configured the updates again. The recorded program had the red recording service stopped during recording message and was about 40 mins short - obviously the logs just stopped.

Exactly the same thing happened last night.

On doing a google search I have found that a lot of people are having problems with KB2821895 and once it has installed there is no way to uninstall it :mad:

Ive done that and will see if that fixes the problem - and will report back.

I have a Pinnacle 320e hybrid (digital & analogue tuners) stick which shows up fine in the OS, but doesn't show up in NextPVR.
Although it works fine with Windows Media Centre, it's a pretty old device, so I went out today & bought a new one.
I've seen a lot of people say that Hauppauge's work well with NextPVR so I bought a Hauppauge WinTV-Duet (2 digital tuners), but guess what - That doesn't show up either...

Have I just been unlucky in having two unsupported devices, or is there some configuration step I need to do?

I'm running Win7 Ultimate and using a SDPrime three tuner card with a cable card. I can get a picture and occasionally sound with Live TV but it's inconsistent and in every case NPVR freezes after one or two channel changes. I had no problem propagating NPVR with the SDPrime channels and they show up on the epg screen although I haven't yet tried to subscribe to a epg source. I did set the Win7 firewall to let NPVR through. I started with the thought of using NPVR with XBMC but NPVR does exactly what I want on my large screen so I'm going to forget XBMC. Due to the dots at the end of the name I got failed recordings. It seems that an invalid filename could be generated by the recording service.
