Hi,

I have recently finished a new release of GameZone which I had hoped would be beta tested by the wishlist creator it was based upon, unfortunately I have not heard from them so can someone brave please try the attached version and provide feedback

Thanks

Added - Xtra Emulator a new tab that adds applications and emulators with multiple path support to the menu buttons
Fixed - removed debug message boxes when Mame game info was selected
Fixed - under Zinc the frameskipping and slow geometry options now are kept by gamezone previously the settings were lost
Added - Zinc has options to enable/disable the write out of the controller.cfg and the renderer.cfg files
Fixed - removed old settings from config.xml that were causing issues for some people

Hmmm 23 viewers of the thread and only one downloader.

Am I wasting my spare time here, I get the feeling of late that I should resolve my only issue which is how to exit a game with the remote and then move on....

I just installed 2.3 and am having a couple of issues...

1. <PCGamesENABLED>True</PCGamesENABLED> is showing up as <PCGamesENA>True</PCGamesENA> again in the config.xml, and PCGames will not work in Gamezone until it is changed manually to <PCGamesENABLED>True</PCGamesENABLED>

2. Xtra Emulator buttons show up, but when clicked don't do anything. Below is the configuration in config.xml for ATARI and Saturn, the two extra emulators I have.

<ATARIENABLED>True</ATARIENABLED>
<ATARIPath>E:\Games\emulators\atari\stella\stella-2.3.5\stella.exe</ATARIPath>
<ATARIARG>
</ATARIARG>
<SaturnENABLED>True</SaturnENABLED>
<SaturnPath>E:\Games\emulators\saturn\Emus\SSF_009_prototype_R 1\SSF.exe</SaturnPath>
<SaturnARG>
</SaturnARG>

Hope that this helps. The extra emulator buttons are awesome, and that they can be worked out.

Installed version from the wiki and then copied the new dll in. Configured it in the config app to add visual pinball and the rom dir.
When I try to run the plugin it crashes back to the main menu and complains the specified key file wasn't found - gamezone.xml
It is in the keymappings dir.
Any ideas?

There was a few stupid issues with version 2.2 & this was expanded with 2.3 so I have repackeaged GameZone and released version 2.4 this will have the additional files that was missing in 2.2 and 2.3 as I said "stupid issues" hopefully people can get this working.

Thanks for the feedback.

Maybe I checked too fast, but the file is not uploaded, I get the wki login when I click on it

Edit -It's there now.

Installed v2.4.
Still crashes to main menu. Just the one emulator enabled, visual pinball.
Logs attached.

Hi Pastro,

I am making some assumptions here.

1. you are trying to setup vpinball through XtraEmulators
2. you set it up using GameZone 2.3

If the above are true then re-add your xtra Emulator setup. this can be easily achieved by selecting the vpinball row under xtraemulators and pressing edit and the add click ok to overwrite.

Let me know if this helps.

In the meantime I will look at your log file

cheers

@Pastro,

It would seem that your config.xml file may be messed up after manually editing PCGames perhaps?

from the log file:

System.Xml.XPath.XPathException: '/settings/PluginSettings/GameZonePlugin/PC GamesENABLED' has an invalid token.

go into config and see if you can change the state of PCGames and then try it.

The correct setting should be PCGamesENA not PC GamesENABLED or PCGamesENABLED

Cheers

Didn't manually edit the config.xml.

Set it up using gamezone2.3

On the config there is a setting for visual pinball which I configured with the path to the vpinball.exe file. I didn't use the xtra emulators.
I then setup the rom dir.

I noticed that the config app says 2.3. Is that correct?

This line was in the config.xml.

<PCGamesENA>False</PCGamesENA>

I'm using version 17.2 of the wizuihelper.dll
Did you build with v17.0 or greater?

The config applet should say GameZone 2.4 if you are using 2.4

I would not use 2.3 as there were files missing and other errors in the code which will just confuse matters.

I have never been able to get the vpinball to work on my PC so I am unable to help you with vpinball if it requires me to replicate your issue that is, if its to assist you with error messages and if neccessary code changes to vpinball to get it to work for you then Im fine with that.

The correct version of Wizuiheper is included with the GameZone 2.4 installation pack. make sure you stop recording service prior to installing and then wizuihelper will be installed otherwise an error will occur, you can restart the recording service after installing.

Can I ask that you carry on any issues with 2.4 in this thread http://forums.gbpvr.com/showthread.php?t=35802

In there you will see I have released a patch 2.4.1 that resolves a PCGames issue when you want just a excutable to be launched with no arguaments or rom files.

Cheers
