Not sure if this is the right section, please move this if it's int he wrong spot.

Is it possible to have GB-PVR work with the Z400 (http://www.zensonic.com/z400.php)? If not, what would be involved in making it work?

i hope sub finds a way to use this with gbpvr, this looks so much better than the MVP (physical looks, but also features).

You'll probably be waiting a long time. The Zensonic 400 is basically a DSM-320. Both are using firmware from RedSonic, which has not released it's firmware as open source. I have a DSM-320 and would love to have GBPVR on it, but the hacking community for these devices is just starting to try to figure out how to update the software. Also, these devices are UPnP devices, which I don't think the MVP is. The interface would have to be completely written in the firmware.

i love the fact its got component output via RGB (my crappy tv doesnt have dvi inputs). and it appears to be able to play back dvds, yay! remote is kinda ugly thou :P

hopefully they will send a free one to sub, so he can get this working with gbpvr. of course it really matters how expensive they are, i never bothered looking, since the MVP is farely cheap. and well this one looks expensive.???

You can get a Dlink DSM-320 for about $145 US. It can play VOB's, but does not allow for chapter changes or DVD navigation. It also does play XviD/Divx encoded files. But it also has some pretty annoying bugs in the current firmware. FF/REW doesn't always work on MPEG files. If your MPEG files are over 2GB in length, it doesn't recognize them. Audio/Video synch issues occur when using AC3 audio streams with XviD/Divx encoded AVI's.

I've had one for the last 6 months, and have now finally figured out a working/relliable method for playing Videos on the thing. Believe me wait until another couple of firmware's before moving up to Zensonic or the DSM-320.

Yeah, I have a lot of stuff in AVI xvid format, so that is why I bought the DSM-320. If I convert everything that I want to stream to the DSM-320 to a Xvid AVI with an MP3 audio stream, I'm fine. AutoGK does a good job at this. It's just a pain to have to batch it and convert it. If I would have known about GBPVR before I bought the DSM-320, I probably would have gone with the MVP as well.
